The making of a collar...

So a while ago I was talking about trying to make a detachable collar and well this is my (slightly failed) attempt. Slightly failed because its too big so i have to redo it later. Well I say me but most of this collar was sewn by mum as I tried to use the sewing machine and absolutely paniced haha. I done the drawings at least ... so it is definitely my fault that the collar is too long.

Had to use so many tacks to not get the paper to curl up.

I skipped a couple of chapters here ... this is the two fabrics (jeans and a floral pattern all left overs) im using tacked together backwards (so I can turn it later to make a smooth line).

You can see by my facial expression that its not the way i wanted it. It's supposed to lie right on the line of my t shirt. Will show you the finished one once mum fixed it.
By the way this skirt is my absolute favourite. It was cut of a dress that broke at the top and it hasnt been of my waist since then. I'm sure I posted about it before but ah well.

Close up.

That's the way I want it to sit. =]
All in all it's a great thing to make when you have a spare day but you definitely need to know your sewing machine or someone that does.
